Vegas Golden Knights forward Pavel Dorofeyev returned to practice wearing a red non-contact jersey.
The 23-year-old winger sustained an upper-body injury against the New York Rangers on Jan. 26 and has been out of the lineup since then. Jacob Trouba was suspended for two games for elbowing Dorofeyev.
In the 29 games Dorofeyev played before the injury he scored seven goals and 14 points.
The Golden Knights recently welcomed back Jack Eichel and made a trade to acquire Anthony Mantha. Dorofeyev’s eventual return is a positive sign for a team that has had many negative results.
The team has dropped into a wild card spot with 20 games remaining. It’s been confirmed that Mark Stone is out for the rest of the regular season but adding Dorofeyev, William Carrier hopefully in the next few weeks and possibly another addition before Friday’s trade deadline can be what helps the team turn things around.
It hasn't been said when Dorofeyev will return to the lineup but the fact that he is on the ice is a good sign that his return is in the near future.
