Defenseman has 35 points in 61 games with Calgary.
The Vegas Golden Knights have acquired defenseman Noah Hanifin from the Calgary Flames, Elliotte Friedman first reported. The Golden Knights sent Daniil Miromanov, a first-round pick, and a conditional third-round pick that becomes a second, if Vegas wins a playoff round.
The trade also features double salary retention from Calgary and Philadelphia.
Hanifin had an AAV of $4.95 million, but due to the double salary retention from Calgary and Philadelphia, the Golden Knights will be on the books for $1.25 million. With Alec Martinez out for the time with a lower-body injury, Hanifin slots into a role alongside Alex Pietrangelo as a left-handed shot.
The teams are also working on a contract extension, according to Darren Dreger.
It is unknown if Hanifin will be in Vegas for the team's game against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday. Vegas General Manager Kelly McCrimmon is scheduled to meet with the media on Friday.
Vegas has roughly $3 million left in salary cap space, assuming another player doesn't go on LTIR.
