Luke Dragusica will head to the AlpsHL after a slashing suspension ended his 2025-26 season in November.
Former Brampton Steelheads blueliner Luke Dragusica has signed in Croatia with AlpsHL side KHL Sisak for the 2026-27 season, according to their Instagram.
Dragusica, 19, is coming off a season-ending OHL suspension for a dangerous and retaliatory slash to the head of Oshawa Generals blueliner Brady Blaseg in November 2025.
According to the OHL at the time, the Stoney Creek native was required to undergo a league-mandated education, counselling and community service program, as well as appear before a reinstatement panel to be eligible to return to the league for the 2026-27 season.
Clearly, Dragusica has opted against going this route, and has decided to head to Europe to turn professional.
The 6-foot-1 blueliner was a second-round pick in the 2023 OHL draft, and played 70 career regular season OHL games across three seasons, with the most coming in his rookie year, where he recorded eight points in 47 games.
He struggled with injuries throughout his sophomore year, only getting into eight games. Then, after just 15 games in his third year, the slashing incident happened, and the ensuing suspension rightfully ended that campaign, and now in turn likely his OHL career.
