The 19-year-old joins Peterborough after playing last season in the NAHL.
With the 2026-27 OHL season getting underway later this week, there's still time for teams to iron out their rosters ahead of the start of the year.
The Peterborough Petes made a step in that direction on Thursday, announcing the signing of signing American forward Mason Minsky.
Minsky, 19, joined the Petes' training camp as an invite in 2026, and impressed enough throughout preseason to be given a spot on the team.
The 5-foot-10 centre played last year in the NAHL, scoring 35 (16+19) points in 53 games with the Janesville Jets in his first year of junior hockey.
Minsky, an Illinois native, played a majority of his youth hockey with the Chicago Reapers program, also playing with the Chicago Young Americans and Team Illinois. He also spent the 2024-25 season playing prep school hockey with Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut.
Peterborough has had a somewhat quiet summer, not making too many major moves around their group. They'll hope this signing can give them a boost to the forward core as they look to build on a season where they finished fourth in the East, but struggled in the playoffs.
Minsky is committed to join the NCAA's University of Miami (Ohio) for the 2027-28 season.
