Aucoin will follow his father Adrian's footsteps with his NCAA path.

Sarnia Sting blueliner Kaden Aucoin has announced his NCAA commitment to the Boston University Terriers, the player announced via Instagram on Thursday..

It's currently unclear the exact year this commitment will become active, but the 17-year-old will almost certainly be staying in Sarnia for at least another season.

Aucoin, a second-round pick in the 2025 OHL draft, scored two goals and five assists in 61 games as a rookie on a rebuilding Sting team in more of a depth role, and also piled up 72 penalty minutes.

The rugged defender holds dual Canada/U.S. citizenship thanks to being born in Scottsdale, AZ, during his father Adrian's NHL career, but has chosen to follow in his dad's footsteps internationally by choosing to represent Canada at the U17 level.

Kaden will also be following in his father's footsteps by heading to BU, where Adrian played one season in 1991-92 before being drafted into the NHL.

The family connections don't stop there for the Aucoins, though. Kaden and his brother Cameron played last season together in Sarnia, and the latter is committed to the University of Notre Dame.

But, for now, the family will celebrate Kaden's future commitment to join the Terriers.
