A long transfer battle is over, and the star draft-eligible forward will join the Remparts.

After months, one of the longest transfer sagas in recent memory is over.

Star USNTDP forward Carter Meyer informed the USNTDP he wouldn't be returning for the 2026-27 season over a month ago, but USA Hockey would not grant his release to head to the Quebec Remparts.

Now, finally, Meyer has had his release granted, and will be able to play in the QMJHL, as is his desire.

This news was first reported by Mikaël Lalancette of Le Soleil.

The dynamic 6-foot centre is a can't-miss prospect for the 2027 NHL draft, entering the year as a projected top-10 pick and arguably the top American in the class.

Meyer was the top player on the NTDP U17 team last year, scoring 45 (18+27) points in 41 games, while also scoring 25 (11+14) points in 29 games playing up with the U18s.

Speed, skill and pace are the name of the game for the Winchester, MA, native, who loves to drive play and create chances for himself and teammates by pushing the pace.

All of a sudden, the Remparts look totally stacked as well. Recent St. Louis Blues first-rounder Maddox Dagenais leads the way up front, alongside Meyer and fellow draft-eligible rookie James Scantlebury.

Of course, brother Freddy Meyer is also a Rempart, with the blueliner joining the team ahead of last season.

Patrick Deniger should be one of the top goaltenders next year, and you can really see the amount of skill and talent on display in Quebec City.

Meyer is committed to join Boston University of the NCAA following his junior career.
