Halifax continues to load up, acquiring Nathan Langlois as an overager.
Training camp season is in full flow as the 2026-27 QMJHL season is right around the corner, and with that means some camp trades as teams finish building out how they want their rosters to look.
The Halifax Mooseheads and Rouyn-Noranda Huskies completed a deal on Thursday, sending overager Nathan Langlois to the Mooseheads in exchange for two third-round picks, one in 2027 and one in 2028.
Langlois, 20, is coming off of his second full QMJHL season with the Huskies, where he scored 38 (16+22) points in 44 games. He also added two goals and eight assists in 17 playoff games.
Nathan Langlois will join a loaded Mooseheads team. (Photo: Jean Lapointe)This move acts as another statement of intent for Halifax, who seem poised to make a big run this season. The Lévis native will provide another level of attacking firepower and scoring ability on a strong roster.
The Moose have brought in talent such as Mateo Nobert in a trade with the Armada, as well as some import signings in Austrians Niko Uschan and Paul Sintschnig. There have also been some American additions in Evan Nee, Jackson Smail, Jack Fichthorn and Brady Smith.
It's been a few years since Halifax have really pushed up the table, but 2026-27 appears to be next on the list of great seasons out in Nova Scotia.
For Rouyn-Noranda, it appears to be a rebuilding year as they plan around the timeline of first overall pick Thomas Boisvert and the other young talent they have on the team.
The Huskies have also dealt Charlie Benigno to Moncton earlier this week, and sold top goalie Samuel Meloche to Saint John earlier in the summer.
