As NCAA commitment season continues to blaze on, the UConn Huskies have landed a big signing out of the QMJHL.
That would be Thomas Rousseau, the dependable and skilled winger from the Sherbrooke Phoenix. He's expected to head to college for the 2027-28 season, after his third full year in the Q.
Rousseau, 18, was a first-round pick from the Phoenix in the 2024 QMJHL draft, and has remained with the team throughout his whole career to date. He took a good step last season, posting 52 (22+30) points in 60 games.

(Photo: Vincent Lévesque-Rousseau)The 5-foot-10 winger's good play saw him invited by Hockey Canada to this year's U18 Worlds, where he recorded one assist in five games as a depth forward.
Rousseau did not get drafted into the NHL this summer, but did earn a development camp invite to attend Montreal Canadiens camp in July.
In the upcoming season, he'll hope to have a big campaign on the scoresheet on a Phoenix team that should have a pretty solid forward group, before heading off to school in the fall of 2027.
