The puck dropped on week 24 of the 2025-26 QMJHL season with two games on Wednesday, including a Gatineau squad picking up just their third win in February.

The Olympiques sit second from last in total goals this season, and while they've been somewhat resolute defensively, scoring just 2.3 goals per game isn't enough to be anything more than a bottom-three team in the league.
The team received another blow earlier Wednesday, as it was announced forward Peter Legostaev needs surgery and will miss the rest of this season. The 18-year-old only appeared in 31 games this season, but his 0.52 points-per-game pace sat tied for third on the team.
That didn't stop the team tonight from picking up a big win in Val-d'Or, just their third in the month of February.
Maxim Dube got the scoring going just 43 seconds into the first, before Jeremie Dumas-Larouche doubled the lead halfway through the period. The 2-0 score would hold into the intermission, giving Gatineau the advantage as the team's headed for the break.
Ethan Cox would make it three a few minutes into the second, but that's when the tide started to change. Alix Durocher would make it 3-1 with five minutes to go in the second, before Josh Demers would reduce the lead to one just before the second intermission.
Durocher would tie the game up in the third period, the only goal of the final frame, which sent the teams to overtime. In the extra time, Simon-Xavier Cyr would play hero, scoring his ninth goal of the season, and ruining Val-d'Or's comeback attempt.
Dumas-Larouche and Cyr had a goal and an assist each, and Danai Shaiikov stopped 20 of 23 shots to pick up the win.
