The third-to-last week of the 2025-26 QMJHL season concluded Sunday with a busy six-game slate of action. One of the more intriguing fixtures was a match between two playoff teams looking to prove their worth.

(Photo: Louis Jalbert)The clock on this season is ticking down, and with the playoffs starting at the end of the month, the last half dozen games are a chance for some upper mid-table teams to get themselves the best seeding possible, and round into form to feel good about themselves heading into the post-season.
That's what makes Sunday's game between Newfoundland and Rouyn-Noranda interesting, even if the outcome itself won't have the biggest impact in the long run.
It was the Regiment who opened the scoring, as Alexis Michaud beat Samuel Meloche around the halfway mark of the opening frame.
Samuel Beauchemin would equalize later on for the Huskies, and the teams would head into the locker rooms tied 1-1 after the first.
The Regiment would run away with the game in the second, as Dawson Sharkey scored a pair, the second being a real back breaker with just eight seconds to go in the period, as the Regiment took a 3-1 lead into the third.
They'd extend that lead to 4-1 with a Tyson Goguen marker, his 17th of the season. Despite a late Huskies push, Louis-Antoine Denault would stop all 15 shots sent his way in the third on his way to another victory, his 15th with the team since a mid-season trade from Quebec.
Sharkey's brace and Goguen's 1+1 performances led the way, alongside Emile Perron's two assists.
