A look at which team currently holds the 2026-27 WHL In-Season Cup.

The new addition to the 2026-27 WHL campaign is the In-Season Cup. This league-wide tournament started the campaign with the Everett Silvertips and will transfer to whichever team beats them first. The "Cup" will keep transferring until the end of the year, when the team holding it will be declared champion. Here is an update after the second week of the season.

The Spokane Chiefs not only became the current holders of the In-Season Cup, but also defended it twice over the weekend. After a 6-1 win over the Portland Winterhawks on Friday, Spokane defeated Portland again on Saturday, 3-1, before securing a 3-1 win over Everett on Sunday. The Chiefs are off to a dream start this season, going 5-0-0 and outscoring their opponents 18-7.

Spokane will have another busy weekend as they will have to defend the In-Season Cup twice. They first take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday, followed by the Silvertips on Saturday. The Chiefs will also have a mid-week game coming up as they battle Everett on October 13.
