A deep dive into the Carolina Hurricanes' WHL prospect pool.

Welcome to this edition of the 2026 WHL Prospect Pools. Throughout the 2026 off-season, we will be looking at current or recently graduated WHLers who have been drafted or signed by NHL clubs. Today's organization is the Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes added one WHL prospects during the 2026 NHL Entry Draft in Zachary Lansard. The 17-year-old forward had a breakout season with the Regina Pats as he scored 24 goals and recorded 56 points in 68 games. Lansard then added three goals while recording nine shots on goal in five playoff games. 

Lansard was one of the youngest players drafted this year. He does not turn 18 until July 29. Lansard is projected to return to the WHL for the 2026-27 campaign.
