The homes of the Calgary Hitmen and Lethbridge Hurricanes will now host to the 2025 CHL USA Prospects Challenge on November 25-26.

After a successful first run in 2024, the WHL will try its hand at hosting the now-annual event. The CHL squad came out on top last year, and a hungry squad of hopefuls look to make it back-to-back. Game one will take place on November 25 in Calgary at the Scotiabank Saddledome, and game two at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena in Lethbridge.

“The Western Hockey League is excited to welcome the CHL USA Prospects Challenge to Calgary and Lethbridge,” commented WHL Commissioner Dan Near. “The Calgary Hitmen and Lethbridge Hurricanes will serve as excellent hosts for this world-class event, and we thank both Clubs and their communities for welcoming this event with open arms. We look forward to showcasing the best players from across the entire Canadian Hockey League and are eager to once again ignite the great rivalry that exists on the ice between Canada and the United States.”

Of the ten WHL stars that played in the inaugural showcase, seven of them were selected in the first round of the 2025 NHL draft and the remaining three are looking to hear their names called on day two.

The selection committee will be comprised of all 32 NHL general managers, that will identify the top group of the 2026 draft class. From there, the Team CHL coaching staff will choose from that group to represent the league.
