    Five WHLers will be headed to Arlington, Virginia, next week to participate in the annual NHLPA Rookie Showcase. The event, hosted by Upper Deck, serves as a means for the company to obtain photos and promotional clips ahead of the season. This year's Rookie Showcase will take place on September 3 and will feature more than 30 prospects.

    As mentioned, five WHL players will be heading to this year's event. The five are Spokane Chiefs forward Berkly Catton, Kelowna Rockets forward Tij Iginla, Edmonton Oil Kings forward Gracyn Sawchyn, Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Brayden Yager and Calgary Hitmen defenceman Carter Yakemchuk. The event is closed to the public.
