Welcome to this edition of the 2025 WHL Prospect Pools. Throughout the 2025 off-season, we will be taking a look at current or recently graduated WHLers who have either been drafted or signed by NHL clubs. Today's organization is the Utah Mammoth, which has four WHLers in its prospect pool.

Utah has added a WHL prospect in each of the last three drafts. The Mammoth selected Tri-City Americans defenceman Terrell Goldsmith in 2023, Kelowna Rockets forward Tij Iginla and Medicine Hat Tigers defenceman Veeti Väisänen in 2024, as well as Portland Winterhawks defenceman Max Pšenička this past June. Even going back to their Arizona Coyotes days, Utah's organization has done a great job of adding WHL talent to their system.

Starting with Goldsmith, he wrapped up his WHL career this past season. The 20-year-old recorded 16 points in 56 games, while posting 99 penalty minutes. Listed at 6'4", 218 lbs, Goldsmith is headed to the AHL for the 2025-26 campaign.

Up next is Iginla, who is one of the Mammoth's top prospects. Despite missing the majority of the season with injury, the 19-year-old still was able to record 32 points in 21 games. Listed at6'0", 194 lbs, Iginla is projected to play a significant role this season for Kelowna.

In 2024, Utah also drafted Väisänen, who wrapped up his rookie campaign this past year. The 19-year-old recorded 24 points in 58 games and was part of Finland's World Juniors team in 2025. Listed at 6'0", 190 lbs, Väisänen may be back in the WHL next season.

Finally, we have Pšenička, who also made his WHL debut last year. The 18-year-old recorded seven points in 24 games after coming over from Czechia mid-season. Listed at 6'5", 185 lbs, Pšenička should get a bigger role with Portland in 2025-26.
