The Calgary Hitmen and Everett Silvertips have made a trade.

The Calgary Hitmen and Everett Silvertips have made a trade. Headed to Calgary will be defenceman Bode Laylin, while Caine Wilkie has been traded to Everett. The deal also includes a fourth-round pick in 2028, which is headed to the Silvertips. 

Laylin is currently in his first WHL season. Drafted 164th by the Calgary Flames in 2026, the18-year-old defenceman has one assist in five games this year. Laylin has already committed to the NCAA for next season, where he will join the University of Minnesota.

As for Wilkie, he is headed back to the team that he started his WHL career with. The 18-year-old forward played his first season with Everett before being moved to the Hitmen in 2025. This year, Wilkie has recorded two assists in five games with Calgary.
