Kaden Meyer is headed to the Red Deer Rebels.
The Red Deer Rebels have added some depth to their blue line. On Monday, Red Deer acquired 18-year-old defenceman Kaden Meyer from the Calgary Hitmen. In exchange for Meyer, Calgary received a fourth-round pick in the 2028 WHL Prospects Draft.
Last year was Meyer's rookie campaign in the WHL. In 38 games, he scored one goal and recorded seven points. Meyer also played two games in the playoffs for the Hitmen last season.
This is the second time Meyer's has been traded in his WHL career. In 2025, the left-shot defender was moved from the Kamloops Blazers to the Rebels for a fourth and sixth-round pick. Meyer's was drafted by the Blazers 124th overall in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.
