    Three more teams clinched spots for the upcoming 2024 WHL playoffs on Saturday. The Portland Winterhawks clinched via a win, while the Everett Silvertips and Prince George Cougars Silvertips clinched despite falling in overtime and a shootout. All three teams are still battling for top spot in the Western Conference, with each already above 70 points on the season.

    Starting with Portland, they with the least amount of games played at 53. They booked their spot in style, beating the Vancouver Giants 8-3 on home ice. The Winterhawks have now clinched a playoff spot in 12 straight seasons the postseason has been held, with their last miss coming in 2008. 

    As for Prince George, they are the only BC Division team to clinch a playoff spot so far. Despite falling 2-1 in a shootout, they booked their spot due to the Tri-City Americans' loss to the Spokane Chiefs. The Cougars clinch a spot for the third straight season, with their last miss coming in 2019. 

    Lastly, the Silvertips clinched due to Tri-City's loss to Spokane. They have never missed the playoff in franchise history, making the postseason for the 18th time. Currently sitting at 76 points, they have already surpassed their total from last season.
