The Pittsburgh Penguins have selected Peyton Kettles 39th overall in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. The 17-year-old defenceman was the 11th WHLer selected and second by the Penguins. Listed at 6'6", 195 lbs, Kettles has spent the last two years with the Swift Current Broncos and played his 100th WHL game earlier this season.

Despite missing games with injury, Kettles was able to set some new career highs this season. He recorded 14 points in 53 games and was part of Team Canada's Hlinka Gretzky Cup team. Kettle is a defensive defenceman who projects as a bottom-pair defender at the NHL level.
