The Boston Bruins are now 43 days from their first regular-season game of the 2025-26 campaign. Due to this, let's take a look at each player who has worn No. 43 in their franchise history.
Ray Podloski was the first Bruin to wear No. 43 in franchise history during the 1988-89 season. In eight games with Boston that campaign, he recorded one assist, 17 penalty minutes, and a minus-1 rating. This would be his only career NHL season.
Podloski passed away on May 29, 2018 at the age of 52.
Bob Beers wore No. 43 for the Bruins during his first two NHL seasons in 1989-90 to 1990-91. He changed to No. 22 in 1991-92 and then wore No. 34 when he returned to Boston in 1996-97. In 77 games over four seasons and two stints with the Bruins, he had three goals and 14 points.
The next Bruins player to wear No. 43 was defenseman Matt Hervey in 1991-92. In 16 games with the Bruins that season, he had one assist and 55 penalty minutes. He then played his final NHL season with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1992-93.

Jean-Yves Roy was the next Bruin to sport No. 43 for the Original Six club. He had the best season of his NHL career with Boston in 1996-97, as he set career highs with 10 goals, 15 assists, and 25 points in 52 games. However, he only played in two games for Boston in 1997-98, which would be his last in the NHL.
Joe Murphy was the next player to wear No. 43 for the Bruins, as he did during the 1999-00 season. In 26 games with Boston that campaign, he had seven goals and 14 points. His time in Boston ended when he was claimed off waivers by Washington later that season.

Martin Samuelsson wore No. 43 for the Bruins from 2002-03 to 2003-04. The 2000 first-round pick was never able to blossom into the top-six the Bruins had hoped for, as he recorded just one assist in 14 games for Boston.
The next Bruins player to sport No. 43 was forward Yan Stastny. In two seasons with the Bruins from 2005-06 to 2006-07, he recorded one goal, six points, and a minus-5 rating. Following his time in Boston, he spent the last three years of his NHL career with the St. Louis Blues.
Martins Karsums wore No. 43 for the Bruins next, but it was for a short time. The 2004 second-round played just six games for Boston in 2008-09, posting one assist and a minus-3 rating. He was traded later that season to the Lightning in the deal that brought Mark Recchi to Boston.
In 2009-10, Drew Larman would become the next Bruins player to wear No. 43. In four games that season with the Bruins, he had zero points and a minus-1 rating. This would be the final season he played at the NHL level.
Matt Bartkowski wore No. 43 for the Bruins from 2010-11 to 2014-15. In 131 games with the Bruins over that span, he recorded 24 assists, 77 penalty minutes, 263 hits, and a plus-13 rating. This included recording a career-high 18 assists in 64 games with the Bruins in 2013-14.
Danton Heinen wore No. 43 with the Bruins during each of his two stints with the Original Six club. In 294 games with the Bruins in five seasons, he posted 51 goals, 88 assists, 139 points, and a plus-39 rating. He is currently a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
