Brad Marchand is continuing to build on his marvelous career.
The Boston Bruins secured an impressive 3-0 win over the Nashville Predators last night. With this win, they now have a four-point lead over the Florida Panthers in the Atlantic Division standings.
Brad Marchand played a role in the Bruins' victory over the Preds, as the captain picked up the primary assist on Charlie Coyle's shorthanded goal. Marchand gave Coyle a perfect feed, and the Massachusetts native took advantage of it by scoring on the breakaway.
With this assist, Marchand made history. It was the 57th shorthanded point of his career, and he is now 10th on the NHL's all-time shorthanded scoring list. That is an incredible accomplishment for No. 63.

Marchand joined some elite company in hitting the Top 10, too. Wayne Gretzky (149), Mark Messier (144), Steve Yzerman (83), Jari Kurri (82), Dave Poulin (72), Mario Lemieux (71), Bobby Clarke (67), Ed Westfall (66), and Sergei Fedorov (65) are the players currently ahead of him.
This only displays how excellent Marchand's career has been. He's one of the best penalty-killing forwards the sport has seen, and this latest accomplishment effectively shows that.
