Former Boston Bruins forward Chris Wagner is remembered most by fans for his high level of tenacity and physicality. The Massachusetts native was a mainstay on the Bruins' fourth line for three seasons and was highly respected during it. However, during the final two years of his tenure in Boston (2021-22 and 2022-23), Wagner only played in a combined two NHL games and primarily played with the Providence Bruins.

During the offseason, Wagner signed a one-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche. Like his final years in Boston, he has mainly played down in the AHL. However, earlier this week, the Avalanche recalled the scrappy forward on an emergency basis. He has since taken advantage of the opportunity.

In his first game with the Avalanche since this latest recall, Wagner showed great skill by deflecting a Sean Walker shot and beating Columbus Blue Jackets netminder Daniil Tarasov.

Wagner, 32, understandably showed great excitement after scoring his goal. It was not only his first goal of the season but also his first at the NHL level since the 2020-21 campaign.

Wagner will now look to continue to make an impact with the Avs during his emergency recall from here. In 10 games with the Avalanche this season, he has one goal, one assist, 25 hits, and a plus-3 rating.
