Brad Marchand beat this Oilers superstar in the NHLPA player poll.

Brad Marchand beat this Oilers superstar in the NHLPA player poll.

Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand has put together a remarkable career. After being selected 71st overall by Boston in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Marchand has become one of the greatest Bruins of all time and is making a case to become a Hall of Famer. Thus, it's safe to say that he was a steal of a pick for Boston.

A major reason Marchand has had immense success in the NHL is not only because of his high degree of skill but also his elite ability as an agitator. Due to this, in the NHLPA's recent player poll, No. 63 received some big-time praise and beat the NHL's best player.

For the third season in a row, Marchand came in his first to the question, "Which player do you least enjoy facing but would want on your team?" Marchand received 29.19% of the 555 votes for the question and notably beat Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid.

Matthew Tkachuk, Tom Wilson, and Nathan MacKinnon rounded out the top five for the question.

Given that Marchand is not only a great player but also a pain to play against, seeing him finish with the top spot is entirely understandable. Every NHL club would love to have Marchand on their roster, but thankfully, for Boston, he is their captain.
