Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand and Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner have been battling against each other since the 2016-17 season when the latter began his NHL career. However, the pair had the opportunity to be teammates for Team Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off, resulting in them being champions together.

While speaking with TSN's Mark Masters, the Bruins star had some very kind words to say about Marner.

"He's a very talkative kid. Fun to be around," Marchand said. "Obviously, he's extremely talented. He's always been one of my favorite players as a fan of the game. I loved being his teammate. It was a lot of fun."

Clearly, Marner left a great impression on Marchand during their time together as teammates. While the pair have undoubtedly had some big-time battles over the years, Marchand's comments on Marner show that he has a great deal of respect for him.

Marner certainly showed off his skill against Marchand and the Bruins on Feb. 25, as he scored twice, which included the overtime winner. With this, he now has 18 goals and 73 points in 57 games this season.
