Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery is confident that this new forward will be a fan favorite.

Boston Bruins forward Max Jones made his pre-season debut for the club during their latest matchup against the Los Angeles Kings. This was notable, as the Bruins' summer signing missed a significant chunk of training camp due to an undisclosed injury.
While Jones may not be a big-name free-agent addition like Elias Lindholm or Nikita Zadorov, he undoubtedly has the potential to make an impact because of his hard-nosed style of play.
Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery made that abundantly clear while speaking to reporters about Jones.

Here is what Montgomery said about the power forward:
"I thought it was a good first game. You could tell there was some rustiness. You could tell he was a little, not maybe as poised with the puck. Everything seemed a little rushed. I talked to him about it. But the speed, a couple of the hits — I mean, he hits hard. Bruins fans are going to like him."
Given Jones' style of play, it is not surprising to hear that Montgomery expects Bruins fans to like him. The 2016 first-round pick is known for tenacity and toughness, so he should be a fine addition to the club's bottom six. This is especially so given that the Bruins want to be more challenging to play against this season.
Jones appeared in 52 games last season with the Anaheim Ducks, posting five goals, 15 points, 33 penalty minutes, and a career-high 127 hits.
