David Pastrnak did not participate in today's practice.
Earlier today, the Boston Bruins held practice. It was a notable one for the Bruins, as trade deadline acquisition Pat Maroon was a full-time participant for the first time since being dealt to Boston.
While Maroon was back, the Bruins' best player, David Pastrnak, was absent from practice. That naturally raised some eyebrows.
Thankfully for the Bruins' case, Pastrnak's absence does not appear to be anything serious. Head coach Jim Montgomery shared with reporters that it was simply a maintenance day for No. 88.
Pastrnak, 27, is having another excellent season in 2023-24, posting 45 goals, 102 points, and a plus-22 rating in 75 games. Losing that kind of production from the top six would be brutal for the Bruins, so it's a wise move that the club had him take a rest day.
David Pastrnak With the postseason right around the corner, the Bruins need Pasta to be 100%.
