This is far from ideal news for Boston.
The Boston Bruins are gearing up for a crucial Game 3 matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday. The series is currently tied at 1-1, and the Bruins will look to steal one from the Leafs at Scotiabank Arena. That will not be an easy task.
The Maple Leafs could also get one of their superstars back for this contest. While speaking to reporters, Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said that "there's a chance" that William Nylander will return for Game 3.
Nylander, 27, missed Games 1 and 2 against the Bruins due to an undisclosed injury. The injury was a shock, as Nylander played in all 82 regular-season games this season for Toronto, where he had 40 goals to go along with 98 points.

NHL insider Chris Johnston reported that Nylander officially dressing for Game 3 will be determined by how he "responds to extra work this morning."
If Nylander officially returns to the lineup, it will make the Maple Leafs even more challenging to go up against for the Bruins. He is one of the game's top players, and it will be intriguing to see if he plays for Game 3 from here.
Editor's Note: Nylander is not in the lineup for Game 3.
