Don Sweeney is being rewarded for his excellent work as the Boston Bruins' general manager.
Sweeney has officially been named as general manager of Team Canada at the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off. Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill has also been announced as Sweeney's assistant GM.

Along with that, Sweeney will also be an assistant GM for Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
This is a great accomplishment for Sweeney, and it shows that his solid work as the Bruins' GM is being recognized league-wide.
The 2025 4 Nations Face-Off will occur from Feb. 12-20, with Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the United States participating. 23 NHL players (20 skaters, 3 goalies) will make up each country's rosters in what should be an incredibly entertaining event. The Bruins GM will now be responsible for picking Canada's roster. Given the immense amount of talent that Canada has, he will have some great options to work with.

Nevertheless, congrats to Sweeney for landing this sweet gig.
