Boston Bruins forward Matthew Poitras is continuing to stand out during the early stages of training camp.

Matthew Poitras is one of the many Boston Bruins players looking to secure a spot on the NHL roster for the start of the season. Given that there are multiple spots to fight for, and the young forward made the team last year, he certainly has a good chance of achieving his goal.
This is a big training camp for Poitras, and the young forward is not disappointing. He has been one of the most noticeable players early on, and this translated over to the Boston Bruins Black & Gold Game in Providence on Saturday (Sept. 21).

During the contest, Poitras scored a beautiful goal. After intercepting a pass in the defensive zone, Poitras skated the puck end-to-end before sniping it home.
This was simply a great individual play from Poitras. Besides the great shot, he made a solid defensive play and showed high confidence while skating with the puck. This is exactly the kind of stuff that the Bruins want to see from Poitras.
It will now be intriguing to see what Poitras does throughout the rest of training camp. He is off to a great start, and if he keeps this kind of play up, he should have zero trouble making the NHL roster.
