This former Boston Bruins forward got a big promotion.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have promoted former Boston Bruins forward Rick Nash to be their new director of hockey operations.
Nash, 40, has worked in the Blue Jackets front office since announcing his retirement back in 2019. He was initially a special assistant to former Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen until the end of the 2020-21 season. From there, he was promoted to Columbus' director of player development.
Seeing Nash continue to land more significant opportunities with the Blue Jackets is entirely understandable. He not only has worked in their front office for multiple years but was also a superstar for them during his playing days. After being selected by the Blue Jackets first overall in 2002, he posted 289 goals, 258 assists, and 547 points in 674 games with the club. He also won the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy in 2004 with Columbus and had his No. 61 retired back in 2022.

In 11 regular-season games as a Bruin, Nash had three goals and six points. He also appeared in 12 playoff games for Boston, recording three goals and five points.
