The Boston Bruins made multiple additions this summer, but none are more significant than Elias Lindholm. The Bruins signed this year's top free-agent center to a seven-year, $54.25 million contract, and he is now expected to be a crucial part of the Bruins' forward group for a long time.

So far, Lindholm has been making a great first impression with his new teammates. This is especially so with superstar David Pastrnak, as he compared Lindholm's play to two Bruins legends while speaking to reporters.

Here is what Pastrnak had to say about Lindholm:

"He has a little bit of both Krejci and Bergeron. He's a helluva of a two-way player, and he has a high hockey IQ, like I said. He's a righty, you know, and I've played most of my career with a right-handed centerman, so I'm really excited to build the chemistry. Whether we play together or not, we'll for sure have some looks on the power play or five-on-five. He's going to be a big part of our team."

These are certainly some big names for Lindholm to be compared to. Bergeron and Krejci put together magnificent careers with the Bruins and were a significant reason for the club's success. They were Boston's top two centers for many years, and now the Bruins are hoping that Lindholm can be as well.

Lindholm was viewed as a potential Bergeron replacement for quite some time before officially coming to Boston. This is because Lindholm is known for his strong two-way play and notably finished second to Bergeron in the Selke Trophy race back in 2022.

However, Lindholm can also be a strong offensive producer and playmaker like Krejci when playing at his best. For example, back in 2022-23 with the Calgary Flames, Lindholm had 22 goals and 64 points in 80 games. He also notably had 42 goals and 82 points in 82 games for the Flames in 2020-21.

Nevertheless, clearly, Pastrnak is happy to have Lindholm around. It will be fun to see what kind of year he puts together for the Bruins in 2024-25 from here.
