The Boston Bruins have had an underwhelming start to the season. The biggest reason for their struggles early on has been their poor offense.

With the Bruins' offense having trouble producing, many have naturally been wanting to see top prospect Fabian Lysell called up. It makes sense in theory, as the Bruins have not had much production in their middle six. Furthermore, the right wing position is undoubtedly a weak area on Boston's roster.

However, Lysell's start to the season with Providence has not been the greatest. In his first seven games, the 2021 first-round pick has just one goal and one assist. This kind of production is pretty underwhelming, especially when noting that Lysell is known for his skill and offense. Just last season, he had 15 goals and 50 points in 56 games with Providence.

Lysell will need to heat back up in Providence to enhance his chances of being called up. There is no question that the Bruins need a boost right now, and Lysell has the potential to give them that if he takes that next step in his game.

It will be interesting to see if Lysell can break his cold streak and show signs of improvement from here.
