The Bruins have added to their prospect pool.

Jake DeBrusk and Charlie Coyle were The Hockey News picks for the mid-season Selke Trophy.

The Boston Bruins have added to their prospect pool, signing forward Jaxon Nelson to a one-year, entry-level contract for the 2024-25 campaign. He will also play for the Providence Bruins on an ATO for the rest of this season.

Nelson, 24, spent each of the last five seasons with the University of Minnesota. The 2023-24 season was his best campaign for the school, however, as he posted new career highs with 19 goals and 31 points as their captain. In 169 games with the club, he had 42 goals and 89 points.

Nelson is an exciting prospect for the Bruins to add. The Minnesota native is a 6-foot-4 center who plays a steady all-around game and has the potential to become an NHL player in the future. With the club needing help down the middle, taking a shot on a big prospect like Nelson is certainly understandable.
