Boston Bruins forward Pat Maroon is officially making his debut for the club tonight (April 13) against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The gritty winger has been recovering from back surgery, but now, with the playoffs right around the corner, he is good to go.

Maroon, 35, is expected to slot on the Bruins' fourth line with Jakub Lauko and Jesper Boqvist. While the veteran forward will be playing fourth-line minutes, the Bruins are also giving him a key role for this matchup.

Based on today's morning skate, Maroon is also expected to play on the Bruins' second power-play unit with Kevin Shattenkirk, Danton Heinen, Morgan Geekie, and Charlie Coyle. As a result, the Bruins will be hoping for Maroon to make an impact with his skills in front of the net.

Maroon being set to receive power-play time in his first game as a Bruin is big. We will need to wait and see if he can make an impact in the role.

Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery also made it clear that he has big expectations for Maroon in his first game with the club. The Bruins' bench boss had this to say about what he's expecting to see from Maroon: "Quite a bit. What he's gonna bring to the locker room, what he's gonna bring to the bench, what he's gonna bring on the ice, what he's gonna bring to the power play."

Clearly, Montgomery sees Maroon making a huge impact. Tonight is his first chance to do so.
