Boston Bruins goalie prospect Michael DiPietro has had a spectacular start to the 2024-25 season. In seven appearances with the Providence Bruins, the 6-foot-1 goalie has a 5-2-0 record, a .936 save percentage (SV%), and a 1.70 goals-against average (GAA). He also posted his first shutout of the season against the Springfield Thunderbirds on Oct. 20.

DiPietro has been incredibly consistent, too, as he has allowed no more than two goals in any of his appearances. In addition, he has had a .917 SV% or better in six out of his seven starts of the campaign. That's just great goaltending from the 25-year-old.

Seeing DiPietro thrive in Providence is very encouraging. His play shows that the Bruins have another interesting option to consider recalling if one of their top goalies gets injured down the stretch.

DiPietro has also taken over as Providence's top goalie early on this season. Fellow Providence goalie Brandon Bussi has struggled so far, posting a 1-4-0 record, a .860 SV%, and a 4.09 GAA in his first five games. However, given his AHL success, Bussi can undoubtedly turn things around.

Nevertheless, after posting a .918 SV% in 30 games last season with Providence, DiPietro seems to be hitting a new level this campaign. It will be fun to see how he builds on his hot start from here.
