The Boston Bruins have yet to pick their next head coach, but this should not remain the case for much longer.
According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, the Bruins are down to their final two candidates and should announce their next head coach "early this week."
The Bruins have been carefully weighing all of their options during their ongoing coaching search. It is understandable, as this is a major decision for the retooling Bruins. However, based on this report from LeBrun, it appears that the Bruins are incredibly close to choosing their next bench boss.
LeBrun did not specify which two coaches are the current finalists, but a few names who have been heavily connected to the Bruins' vacant head coaching job are Marco Sturm, Jay Woodcroft, Mitch Love, and Jay Leach. Joe Sacco was also in the running, but Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman recently reported that Sacco was informed by the Bruins that they are heading in a different direction with their head coaching gig.
It is going to be intriguing to see who the Bruins end up picking as their next coach, but their announcement appears to be on the way.
