Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube shared his thoughts on the Bruins firing Jim Montgomery.

The Boston Bruins made a big decision when they fired Jim Montgomery on Tuesday (Nov. 19). Naturally, the Bruins management, players, and fans have shared their thoughts on the decision. However, Montgomery's firing is also being discussed outside of the club.
When asked about Montgomery's firing, Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube expressed sympathy for the former Bruins' bench boss. According to NHL insider Chris Johnson, Berube called Montgomery's firing "upsetting."

In addition, Berube said this on the matter: "I feel for coaches. It's a tough business."
Berube and Montgomery have a history together. Montgomery spent two seasons as an assistant coach with the St. Louis Blues when Berube was the club's head coach. Montgomery's time with the Blues ended when he became the Bruins' head coach before the start of the 2022-23 season.
