One area that the Boston Bruins should certainly look to improve this off-season is their top six. It is no secret that the Bruins need more offense, and now they are being connected to one of the NHL's top trade targets because of it.
According to The Fourth Period, the Bruins are among the teams with expected interest in Minnesota Wild center Marco Rossi.
"Several teams are believed to have varying degrees of interest in Rossi, including the Calgary Flames, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks, Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers," The Fourth Period reported.
Hearing that the Bruins reportedly have Rossi on their radar is not particularly surprising. They need help down the middle, and the 2020 ninth-overall pick would provide them with just that. In addition, he would have the potential to offer them a long-term solution in their top six, as he is only 23 years old and still has more time to develop his game even further.
Rossi is coming off an impressive 2024-25 season with the Wild, setting new career highs with 24 goals, 36 assists, and 60 points in 82 games. This was after he had 21 goals and 40 points in 82 games with Minnesota in 2023-24, so he took a nice step forward this campaign.
With Rossi being a young center coming off a 60-point season, there is no question that the Wild would expect a significant return in any potential trade centering around him. He is also a pending restricted free agent, so he is due for a notable raise this summer from his previous $863,334 cap hit.
