The Boston Bruins have multiple pending free agents on their roster as we inch closer to the end of the 2024-25 season. Because of this, Bruins management has some decisions to make about who they will want to keep around beyond this season.

One Bruin who can hit the market as an unrestricted free agent on July 1 is defenseman Parker Wotherspoon. The 27-year-old blueliner has continued to be a serviceable depth defenseman for the Bruins this campaign, posting one goal, six points, and 60 hits in 46 games thus far.

Wotherspoon has offered the Bruins' blueline with versatility, as he can play both sides. In addition, he has been used on multiple different pairings throughout the year and has gotten penalty-kill time.

With this, it is fair to wonder if the Bruins could look to extend Wotherspoon at an affordable price. While he is not the flashiest of defensemen, he could be worth keeping around as a bottom-pairing or seventh defender.
