Byram has scored his first goal as a Sabre, and it was a beauty.

Who Should Be The Next Sabres Captain?

The Buffalo Sabres made a major trade yesterday (March 6), acquiring defenseman Bowen Byram from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward Casey Mittelstadt. It is a move that makes obvious sense for both clubs, as they both upgraded a position that needed improvement.

Byram, 22, immediately made his Sabres debut against the Nashville Predators tonight, and it is safe to say that he has left an excellent first impression.

At just 4:23 of the first period, Byram scored a beautiful goal to tie the game up at 1-1. The young defenseman received an excellent feed from star defenseman Rasmus Dahlin and beat Predators star goalie Juuse Saros with a perfectly placed shot.

Byram is viewed as having high offensive potential, and he showed that off with his marvelous goal. It will be fun to see how well he keeps this play up from here, but so far, it is hard not to be impressed by the youngster's start with Buffalo.
