Former Buffalo Sabres star forward Jack Eichel is creating some chatter, but not for a good reason.

During the Vegas Golden Knights matchup today (March 30) against the Minnesota Wild, Eichel was handed a five-minute major and game misconduct for spearing star winger Kirill Kaprizov.

After Eichel's spear was reviewed on video, his five-minute major stood, which clearly shocked the Massachusetts native. However, given the infraction in question, this decision is not too surprising, as it appeared to be intentional.

Eichel, 27, will now need to wait and see if he will receive any discipline from NHL Player Safety. While this was not the most egregious of plays, it certainly was far from clean.

Eichel has 25 goals, 57 points, and a plus-5 rating in 55 games this season with the Golden Knights.
