The Buffalo Sabres will look to improve their forward group this offseason. It is understandable, as they desperately need to break their 13-year postseason drought next season.

They specifically need help on the wing, and they have already been connected to several players this summer because of it. However, Frank Seravalli recently reported that St. Louis Blues forward Brandon Saad has been made available for trade. He's somebody who the Sabres should have on their radar.

Saad, 31, would give the Sabres an experienced middle-six forward who provides plenty of secondary scoring. He would also give them a proven winner, as he won the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013 and 2015.

When looking at the Sabres' lineup, Saad would be a great fit on their third line. In addition, due to his steady two-way play, he would also be an option for both their power play and penalty kill units.

While Saad just completed his 13th career NHL season, he is not showing any signs of slowing down. This past season was particularly impressive for the 2011 second-round pick, as he posted 26 goals and 42 points in 82 games.

However, in the end, Saad will complete control if he gets moved, as he is another Blues player with a full no-trade clause. If the Sabres acquired him, he would also be more than a rental, as he has a $4.5 million cap hit until the end of the 2025-26 season.
