Defenseman Charles Alexis Legault returns to the Hurricanes roster.

The Carolina Hurricanes announced on Tuesday that they have recalled defenseman Charles Alexis Legault from the Chicago Wolves.

The 22-year-old blueliner recently returned from a pretty gruesome hand injury that had sidelined him for three months, and he has since been getting back up to speed in the AHL.

Carolina prepares to take on Montreal

It's an interesting timing for a recall as the Hurricanes are playing their final game of their road trip tonight in Montreal. The team also already practiced earlier in the day with head coach Rod Brind'Amour stating that no lineup changes were expected.

Perhaps this is just a precautionary measure for perhaps another player (Mike Reilly has already been drawing in for the injured Shayne Gostisbehere) or maybe he could be in tonight.

Legault is originally from Quebec, so it could potentially be a chance to play near his hometown if he indeed draws in.

Either way, Legault brings a bit of size and defensively responsible depth to the lineup.

He appeared in eight games with the Canes already this season before getting injured.
