Colorado Avalanche superstar Cale Makar is having a remarkable season. In 74 games, he has 20 goals and a career-high 87 points. He is once again in the running for the Norris Trophy this season because of his excellent play.
Makar, 25, clearly has grabbed the attention of his fellow NHL players because of his outstanding play, as they gave him major praise in the NHLPA's latest player poll.

Makar first received the most votes for this question: "In a must-win game, which defenceman do you want on your team? He won by a landslide, too, as he received 56.38% of the 619 votes for the question. With that, Tampa Bay Lightning defender Victor Hedman finished second with 10.50% of the votes.
That was not the only question for which Makar was voted the most. In the player poll, he was also deemed the defenseman with the best breakout pass, receiving 26.56% of the 546 votes.
Needless to say, Makar's dominance has undoubtedly earned him the respect of his peers. Given the fact that he has played spectacularly since entering the NHL, this is entirely understandable.
