The Edmonton Oilers are set to face off against the Montreal Canadiens tonight at 5:00 PM Mountain Time. This is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season, as their next contest will be on March 19.
Although the Oilers and Canadiens have yet to play each other this season, they have been connected throughout it. This is because the Oilers have been linked to all three Habs goaltenders at various points of the campaign. Now, they will get the chance to go up against Samuel Montembeault and the Habs.
Tonight has the chance to be a historic night for the Oilers. If they are victorious in this matchup, they will set a new franchise record by obtaining a 10-game winning streak.

Since their disastrous start to the season, the Oilers have picked up their play immensely and are now on the brink of history because of it. However, they have not set it yet and will need to have a strong game against the Habs if they hope to.
The Canadiens are heading into this game with two straight losses, so they are going to look to change that tonight. Thus, the Oilers cannot take them too lightly, as it could be costly.
