Salt Lake City as a destination for the Arizona Coyotes was predicted nearly three years ago.
EDMONTON -- It was a strange showing for the Edmonton Oilers.
In a game where they had nothing to lose, the Arizona Coyotes upset the Oilers in overtime. Mattias Maccelli scored the game winning goal - after the Oilers battled a sluggish start to the opening frame of the contest.

Evander Kane contributed two assists while Adam Henrique and Darnell Nurse notched the goals for the Oilers. The Oilers certainly could have had more juice to start the game - but getting the single overtime point has allowed them to secure home ice to start the playoffs.
A small consolation prize.
On the other end of the rink, the Coyotes put out a gutsy effort against a playoff team. All of this with the knowledge that their team will be potentially relocating in the off season.
In a bizarre and peculiar coincidence, the Coyotes move to Salt Lake City was predicted on social media - by a bot on the app formerly known as Twitter.
On September 7th, 2021 the twitter account "NHL Rumor Bot" tweeted out the following, "End of an era: Arizona Coyotes announce their relocation to Salt Lake City."
Now about three years later (two years and seven months to be exact) it is announced that the Coyotes will be moving to Salt Lake City.
I wonder what strange thing that account will come up with next - that inevitably comes true.
