Edmonton Oilers are one win away from making it to the Stanley Cup Final.
EDMONTON -- It seems like nothing can stop them now.
The Edmonton Oilers are one win away from punching their ticket to the Stanley Cup Final. They just put on a commanding performance against the Dallas Stars. It's one that fans of both teams will not forget soon. The Oilers walk away the beneficiaries of a 3-1 victory.
For the first two periods the Oilers put on a defensive clinic. They did that the best way they know how - attacking. They spent a considerable amount of time in the offensive zone for the first 40 minutes of the hockey game.
At the second intermission the shots were 15-10 in favor of the Oilers.

It was fitting that this morning featured much praise for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. The Oilers longest tenured player scored the first two goals of the game. Both of his markers came on the power play.
Philip Broberg joined the fun by scoring his first NHL playoff goal ever. Stuart Skinner did his part too, stopping 19 of 20 shots to earn the win.

The Oilers organization hasn't seen a Stanley Cup Final since the infamous showdown of 2006 against the Carolina Hurricanes. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have yet to reach that stage of the postseason themselves.
It's time for the Oilers to show what they are made of.
