There are some who see that as a failure. These group of people believe there are glaring holes at second line right wing and second pairing right-side that were imperative for the organization to remedy. They did not.

What they opted for instead was chemistry and flexibility. After the acquisition of Stecher, Ken Holland met with media that are currently traveling with the team. On the topic of chemistry Holland had this to say, "I think chemistry is really important. I believe our chemistry is really good, everybody knows their roles.

"Talking to our players who have played with these guys in the past - I think they are willing to just come in and be part of the group. They understand what their role, their contributions gonna be - that helps the chemistry work quicker than if you were to bring in some higher end people."

When speaking about the additions , Holland reveals some of the discussions he had with some of his current players regarding trading for Henrique and Carrick, "I've talked to a number of our players, I think they're excited. Some of our players have known or have played minor hockey or junior hockey with Adam (Henrique) and Sam (Carrick), told me that they thought they'd be great additions."

"Especially in terms of chemistry of the team."

Chemistry, chemistry, chemistry - that was a word he repeated quite a bit in his availability.
