Another Edmonton Oilers forward is heading to the AHL.
EDMONTON -- The hockey world is in the middle of trade deadline season.
The Edmonton Oilers have made one trade already - adding Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for magic beans - or something like that.
A few days ago the Oilers placed Sam Gagner on waivers. Yesterday they assigned him to the Bakersfield Condors.
They have another roster move announced today - and it shouldn't surprise anyone.
Dylan Holloway has been sent down. This isn't surprising given Holloway's age, contract status, and the fact that the trade deadline is tomorrow.
This move gives the Oilers more space for the deadline - telegraphing a potential move today or tomorrow.
Holloway, 22, has appeared in 32 games this season for the Oilers, posting three goals, one assist, and a minus-3 rating. While with the Condors, he has shown flashes of his offensive potential, scoring two goals and adding two assists in four games.
While this roster move is a minor one, it should raise the eyebrows of Oilers fans. We must wait and see if a trade is coming for Edmonton from here.
