The New Jersey Devils have announced that forward Nolan Foote has been recalled from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Utica Comets.
Foote, 24, has played in two games this season with the Devils, where he has zero points, two hits, and a minus-1 rating. His last appearance with the Devils was on Nov. 27 against the St. Louis Blues.
Down in the AHL with Utica, Foote is having a solid season. In 53 games, he has 18 goals and leads the Comets with 21 assists and 39 points. Thus, he certainly has earned this opportunity with the Devils.
In 25 career NHL games over five seasons with the Devils, Foote has six goals, two assists, eight points, 23 hits, and a plus-2 rating. It will be interesting to see how much of an impact he makes with the Devils during this latest call-up from here.
